Sea Fishing

Without a doubt, sea fishing is our favourite past time at AnglingInIreland.com. This is because of the beautiful Irish coastline, the excitement of the variety of species to catch, and the almost guarantee of catching a fish, with a basic knowledge of fishing.

Ireland has for many years now been recognised as one of the best sea fishing destinations in the world!

The simple fact is that Ireland has one of the most varied, deserted and rugged coastlines in Europe, made up of over 3000 km of tranquil bays and inlets, roaring surf beaches, quaint harbours and miles of rock and sea cliffs.

The magnificent Cliffs of Moher – Co. Clare

Ireland’s unique geographical location on the edge of the European continental shelf, where the inshore waters are met by the warm North Atlantic Drift means that  marine life is extremely rich and varied. Most of Ireland’s coastline is literally crawling with a variety of species of fish, and visiting sports fishermen can expect something in the region of 80 species to aim at.

Sometimes there are so few other anglers around that at times it feels like you’ve been transported to some kind of eternal fishing paradise!

And remember, fishing is completely free. If you can get down to the water’s edge,  you can fish.
